Using natural stain removers in your home

If you open your cleaning cupboard, the chances are it’s jam-packed with chemical-based products full of promises to quickly and easily clean your home.
The convenience of grabbing a ready-to-use cleaning powder, liquid or solvent is undeniable – however, many of us aren’t aware that a purer (and cheaper) alternative may be lurking around our homes.

If you, like many others, would like to limit your family’s exposure to harsh and abrasive chemicals, use our tips below on removing stains by using natural products.

Whether you want to banish the coffee stains in your favourite mug, clear away the dirty finger prints on your windows, or remove the red wine stain in your carpet – we have home hacks that are proven to work.

  • Pour beer on a coffee stain and lightly rub it in, repeat until it’s gone
  • To remove a paint stain, mix 1 ½ tsp of vinegar, 1 ½ tsp of laundry detergent and 2 cups of water and sponge away the paint with the mixture. Rinse with cold water
  • Pour warm water on a red wine stain and rub it in gently, soak it up with kitchen roll, repeat until it’s gone
  • To get rid of finger marks on windows, put one part vinegar to three parts water in a spray bottle, spritz and wipe clean
  • Fill your burnt stained pan with water and add 2 cups of vinegar. Bring it to the boil and remove from heat. Then add 2 tbsps of baking soda, leave it to stand, and rinse
  • Clean a stained mug by mixing together water and bicarbonate of soda, then wipe away with a sponge

Our Kobosan Active is not only better for your home than harsh carpet shampoos, but is also better for the environment as it is based on wood obtained from sustainable sources.

Kobosan hygienically dry cleans your carpets, and without the need of arduous labour, it removes significant amounts of bacteria, mite excrement and fungal spores from almost all rugs and carpets.
